Featured Artists

Janet Gogue

Janet Gogue will recreate the above images on the streets of downtown La Grande.

Janet Gogue, a working artist living in Grants Pass, Oregon, will create an original chalk art piece during Crossing the Blues. When Janet moved to Grants Pass from northern California in 2002, she turned her attention from fine art and print graphics to decorative wall art, such as interior and exterior murals, faux finishing, and hand-painted natural stone backsplash tiles.

Janet has participated in all three years of Grants Pass' Bearfest, which opened many doors of opportunity for such a new-comer to the community. She has participated in five of the last six years of Art Along the Rogue, among numerous other public projects.

While the majority of her work is in private homes, Janet has public work all over the Grants Pass area. "Rocky," from Bearfest 2004, resides at the River's Edge Restaurant on Rogue River Hwy; exterior murals can be seen at the Spa at Club Northwest, Morrison's Lodge and Exit Realty on 7th and E. Interior murals can be seen at Dutch Bros. Coffee House, Cascade Block, Blondies' Bistro, Tahiti Tans, Jon Robinson, DMD, Cascade Eye Care Center, Fusian Salon, Brant Darby DDS and Tutto Bene Ristorante Italiano.

Ann DiSalvo, worked extensively in illustration and fine art for twelve years in Kentucky. Exhibiting there, in her native state of Wisconsin where she achieved her art degree, and in Oregon, her work has entered many private collections across the country. Ashland has been her home since 1993, becoming involved in the art community through private tutoring and small classes, leading weekly figure drawing, editing the annual Ashland Gallery Guide, and hosting the annual Pomegranate Group exhibit, among her many roles. Ann often works in pastels on plein air works. She shares a studio with artist B. Bayard at 621 A Street where they exhibit their work. She recently participated in a public art project on A Street, painting a water scene on an electric utilty box, one of seven artists chosen for this pilot project.

Ann has created large scale street paintings every year since 1999, specializing in reproducing artist masterworks. Having won 2004 Featured Artist Award in Grants Pass, she became Featured Artist the following year.
